                                Jany - 1918
 
A lovely cathedral where several
of us attended services, Church of Eng.
on Sunday P.M.  27["?] Isaak Walton's
tomb there.  Saw King Arthurs Round
Table. first yard stick, set of weights
& other interesting & historical
relics.  Visited Red Cross Hospital
100 beds.  Left the camp at 9.30 A.M.
29" for South Hampton, reaching
there before noon.  Went to South- 
western Hotel for lunch but
did not get to finish as orders
came to get aboard boat sooner
than expected.  Crossed Channel
on St. George arriving Le Havre
France 10.30 P.M. but did not
leave boat till next morning.
7.30 hiked to Rest Camp #2.  In 
town that night.  had dinner
at cafe & went to theatre,  back to
camp at midnight & spent a
miserable night, never could
get warm. Saw patrol dirigibles
about all day!

1- 
Orders to leave for our post
came & got off 9:30 P.M.  Two
nights & one day trip and the
most miserable one I ever had
Very cold & an uncomfortable
compartment which was 3" C.
One stop for coffee which cer-
tainly was welcomed.  Heavy
frost that night & covered
every thing all next day
Passe thru' Paris during the
night but no stop.  Second
night even more miserable
than first.  Reached our des-
tination early Sat. morning -
Levicourt. hiked to Doncourt
1.5 mi. where 2 Cais. in Co's were
billeted.  Supply Train with
[al...?] & [err?] [?]to Bring Ste
Marie & Truck Co's. to Maison
celles with Maj. Fairfax
Wagon Co. Capt. Hooper
Medical supplies all out & not
able to get any.
