Besse was sick today I phone to her but

she told Mrs. Arden to to tell me she would

call later which she did. Grace

phoned to me at 12:30 & told me Mrs.

Allen had gone to Los Angeles & would

be gone until tomorrow night I phoned

to her about quarter to five this eve

got my Gray Jacket ready to send

home & wrote the folks a short

letter but did not get either of them

sent off. rained today some & 

is now raining 8:30. I am

Just ready for bed. Donnie gave me

a book to dsd about that contained

a short story about the destruction

of Cathedrals during the recent

war. I read it & am not sorry for

doing so - so long -

Rained off and on all day: Mrs. Ellsworth

from Claremont was to come here today

but suppose the rain prevented, Besse & 

Grace both phoned to me this P.M. Besse

said she would come by & we would go to town if the

rain stopped but it didn't stop the consquences

be we didn't go. The folks are eating supper & I am

in the kitchen waiting for the customers to
