over heads. Then many following. chanting in
church by children. Walked by water. climbed
queer [shapened or sharpened?] rocks. took ferry. met several
Clev. nurses Miss McVay (G. H. nurse). Mrs. Engle.
etc. they are on their way home arrived in
Brest 7 P. M. tired but happy. had dinner with
[Guefleke?] family. Mr. Castle of C. called. bed
late. fine day.

Canteen. saw boys off. dance
Canteen nothing unusual. auto ride.
March 21. First day of spring
Beautiful day. free day. saw submarines
chasers fleet sail away. some 30. lovely sight.
visited French hospital. took nuts & cookies
to boys. took pictures. visited wonderful garden

canteen as usual. Knox for dinner. market
