Geo. & Family, John, Marnie,

the Humphreys, Bessie [Sd?], Tanta,

the Goodens and 'we uns"

How just gotten home from

a 4 of July picnic. 12 A. M.

John had a puncture and that

delayed us. We had a lovely

time. Had our fireworks in

the woods.

Am somewhat tired today after

our picnic yesterday. Then rather

a strenous day. Marnie & I

went down town shopping this

morning. Then there was a

troop train at noon--400 men--

195 officers. We made a big

basket of sandwiches at home,

and took with us. They were

a wonderful lot of soldiers and

enjoyed our sandwiches & iced tea.

Must have been 700 soldiers

during the day. Knitted

several inches on my soldier

sweater. Harry is out of town tonight.
