Sunday, Sept. 22, 1918

Harry came to Lawrence to spend

Sunday with us. Had to leave

at 5:30 so it didn't make a

very long day. After he left mrs. J.

Keene, F, Mary & I took a car

ride over the hill. The view

there can't be surpassed. In

all my travels I've never seen more

beautiful country. It seems

strange to see the barracks

& soldiers on the hill. Called

at Chancellor Strongs.

Keene, the children and I

went down town this morning.

Had brown bread ice cream at

Wildeman's. This afternoon I

called on Mrs. Cady. This evening

Mrs. Butler & Florence came and

took us all for a lovely ride.

We stopped at their house and

visited awhile with Dean

Butler.
