The sleet came down in sheets today.
Making it very cold & disagreeable
out. The woman failed to come to
iron. So Mother & I ironed, darned,
mended & put away the clothes.
Was invited to Bertha's tonight to
watch the old year out and the
new in. Harry failed to return --
so I went anyway. She had
tables of bridge. Elizabeth
& Howard beat me. Home at 12:30 A. M.
