Friday was a real busy day at
the Canteen and Mrs. Harry Johntz
and her capable assistants had a
real good time making and serving
sandwiches, coffee and other re-
freshments to six hundred odd sol-
diers and sailors who passed through
the city during the day. An idea of
the work done by these devoted
women may be gained from the fact
that they cut up 27 loaves of bread
and made 700 sandiwiches during the
day. The following donations were
received: 50¢ from Rebecca Jones;
$1 from C. E. McFarlane; two
pounds of bacon and sweet filling
for sandwiches from a friend.
