Dear E,

       I received your letter and

Clara's with my Valentines, gave Jim his,

he was pleased as a cat with two tailes

and showd them both to every one in the

Com'y. They think there big, Thank you for

yours, I have just came off drill, and though[t]

I would improve the time before diner in

amswering yours and Clara's letter, I wrote

you one this week but it wont trouble you

probaly if I write a gain this week I got the

last paper. you sent. And I think I should

get most of them if you send but one in a

wrapper. As regardes Furhoughs I think they

are gon up as three or four whoe have got

them heve failed to return, and 'till they

do there is no hope for any more for this
