Yours of March 2d arived about three
minuets since and I hasten to improve the spare
hower before diner, by answering it. I received a Frank
Leslie's Pictorial from you yesterday but have not
seen the book you speak off. Altho it may come
along in a few days; but when you send books or
papers be carefull and not cover the ends with
the wraper, as it costs more to send them and they
are not as likely to come through, I wrote to you
Saturday, also to Amanda and Luela, I supose
you'll get them this week, I drew two pairs of socks
yesterday. as I had but one pair and they were
all gon. I have enough of every thing else, and
am as comfortable as I could wish. Altho a
little reading mater would'nt go bad, as I have
some considerable spare time, on my hands,
especialy in stormy weather, as we dont drill
on rainy or snow days. We have lived prety well
