after supper. I comenced Tave's letter

three days ago and put it in the bag

this noon. We were on Picket the day before

yesterday and had a very pleasant time

for a wonder, as the rain which threatened

to fall every houre of the twenty four held

off untill last evening giving Co. E. what we

thought we were sure of viz weat skins.

Picketing is very pleasant in good weather.

but as we have no shelter at all and

dont sleep for tweenty four hours, bad

weather is a nusance. The other night

we were back in the woods, and our pickets

stationed about a quarter of a mile from

the reserve. My duty was to take out eight

men to the lines and poste them, every other

four hours. when we were relieved and

went back to reserve, And of all roads

that ever I saw to travile that one knocked
