Dear E,
I received your letter of the 3d.
this morning, and am pleased
to learn that all were well, As regardes
my furlough, its hard to tell, what
may turn up, there is a story now
that they are going to send those that
will not be fit for duty for 2 months, to there own
States, if they do I shall come home.
If not there will be time enough for
you to think about coming out, as
I shall not join my regt. till I
am able to march, which will not
be for two or theree months, I know
nothing about the fellow you speak
off; he may be in Philedelphia or
N.Y. which makes all the difference
in the world, or he may be wounded
so that he never will be fit for duty
