I received yours of the
24th least night and thought I
would answer it this morning.
We are having nice cool weather
wind from the North, and more
like October than Aug: but we shall
probaly have some warm wether
yet but not like any thing we have
had I hope, For the hott spell
has played the mischief with
most of the amputated cases, though
it had no bad effect on me,
and my ankle is geting along well
but it will be some considerable
time before I shall be able to March,
and longer before I join my regiment
if they to go South Carolina, which they
probaly will after the draft in N.Y.
