we shall probaly get out of the woods in the

Dear E. a mall leaves this Morning

and though this is all the paper I can

scare up I will write just to let you

know that I am well and that every thing

is working lovely. The regiment is in good

health, in fact never better, which taking into

consideration the length of the campaign (Two

months to day and most of that time fighting

and marching, building breast works and

cooking and eating) it's truly wonderful

how the boys stand it, And altho there is not

much said in the Papers about Sherman yet

we have accomplished a great work so far

and with but comparitively little loss.
