Dear E.
I received a letter from you
the day before yesterday, but have not had
a chance to answer it before. I have writen
you three letters since we left Farifax Station
but it seems you have not received them. I
have received no Book or papers for I dont know
how long. I have received two letters from you, and
one from Amanda since leaving the Station
I have writen to you three letters, one to Tave, one
to Norris, and one to Moses, Tell me when you
write if they have received them. Where in the
world the letters go to the lord only knows. one thing
is certain I dont get one out of six they say
they have writen. The weather with us is worse
than "[silent]" First cold enough to freeze you
then a snow storn then rain, and blowing a gale
