than half of the talent and influence of the Insitution 

with me. The Colo society here has had no meeting for

the choice of officers and the existing officers [...ed?] out

their terms some time since. When the theological year

commenced five weeks since we had a large addition

to our number and everyone a colonizationist and 

many from slave states and none slaveholders and fairly

[?] -- we are already under conviction and

two at least [recently?] converted. I told you why we

did not discuss the subject publickly last term. The 

colony students begged for time to get facts and prepare.

This term is now fairly under weigh and we are 

to take it up in earnest next week. There are in the class

two brothers of Robert S. Finley. Both graduates of 

Princeton College five years ago and steeped in 

Colonizationism up to the eyes. Of course the Col. Soc.

will have able advocates which is all the better. I will write 

you again in a few days and let you all the particulars 

of our  abolition strength, the formation of our society our

prospects, etc. Do not let any of these facts get into Print

facts worth printing. I forget to tell you that Professor 

Morgan has abandoned his colonizationism and

come over to us with his whole soul. Brother Mahan

Pastor of the Sixth Church has done the same. Three or
