I regret that the tardiness of

the Press has prevented an

earlier offering. of the accom-

panying volumes.  (Les Miserables)

which. would otherwise long since

have been laid on Miss Bettie's

table. – Ample time having been

allowed for the digestion of the

first series, it is hoped, these

will prove acceptable.
