What will Miss Bettie say

if I refuse her request to

destroy the photograph at

present in my possession?: in

so doing shall I lose the

place in your heart that I

am egotistical enough to hope

I now hold?  As the friend of

my idolized brother, while far

away from his loved ones in

Carolina, you have won my heart:

can give me any idea of the

features that my imagination

has for so long a time tried

to sketch? do not urge it
