The delight afforded by the reception of

your last letter, my precious Sister

still lingers deliciously near & tho'

some time has passed since it

first cheered me, its loving contents

still strengthen my heart : 'twas

with untold pleasure that I once

again recognized your dear fa-

miliar handwriting & well I knew,

even before I broke the seal of the

long-wished for, missive, the treat

of love & sympathy in store for me:

the love, how sweet! the sympathy

how warmly appreciated! [I?]

Words fail me, when I try to tell

you how very dear you are to me,
