My very dear young Friend

 

                     I feel compelled after

your last of the 14th inst to add a few lines to

what I know Mary must assent to be true viz

that no change in you or circumstances

can alter our feeling towards you, the fact

that he thought you worthy of his love is

enough for us: he had thought it doubtful

(until he saw you) that he should ever find

his beau ideal of a perfect woman, he had

never loved & oh! what a wealth of love he had

to give I knew, he feared I would be a little

jealous after having so much tender love &

care shown me, not so, his happiness was

mine, & to see him happy made me so; in

Heaven there is no marrying, yet we know

congenial spirits are to live in a state of

perfect happiness, in the smile of a Saviours

love, who is too kind to deny us companionship

with loved ones.  I rejoice that I can hope to
