prevent it here.  Three long weary years I have

waited & no way opens to accomplish a wish

I cherished, indeed the cloud is darker now,

failurs have caused us to be disappointed &

we cannot tell how it will end yet, if we

will receive our due or not, but I can bear

it, he is beyond its reach & soon we may

join him.

I hail your letters with such heartfelt joy

I told Mary it was cruel not to read some

portion of it to me & I knew he would

say so too, so she read a little, enough to

cause me to write this & tell you myself

how grateful to my heart is the precious

missive sent each 14th to Mary, who loves

you with deep devotion & I trust you may

both be able to find a congenial spirit to

pass down the stream of life with; Mary is

so indifferent to offers I fear she does not

want to marry & I am anxious that

she should, she was made to love deeply

& therefore when the object is removed
