Bettie dearest I had intended returning
"good for evil" & giving you an early reply to
your long-looked-for missive, but I am such
a very busy little mortal these days, I can
scarcely find time to take a pen in my
hand : No one except a ministers wife
herself imagines the many demands upon
her time & attention; & then too I have
something quite new to keep heart & hands
full now of which you have not yet heard
I expect:
That sweet sacred name Mother is
mine now dear Bettie & I have just the
dearest & prettiest little babe that any
parent ever was blessed with : A blue-
eyed little daughter; a blended likeness
