Youi will see by my sheet of yesterday that
I was forced to close rather suden so I take
the oportunity to finish this morning. it is verry
warm and pleasant here you speak of having straw
berrys I had some here in the first week in may
cherrys are ripe here now and peaches soon will be
we have verry good times here now we have no
guard arround our camp our Col said that we
had done enough guard & picket duty when we
were out so he would not put us on here now and
give us a chance to recruit a little there is many
of our boys that are sick we have had to bury
many of them sone we buried in bark coffins and some
in their blanket those that we have buryed here have
been put in good coffins we had to bury one of our
company his mame was Forman Taylor the
last honor we could do him was to discharge our farewell
shots over his grave he had one little girl now an orphan
I have been around to see our sick this morning they
made verry comfortable now the women in the
hospital take good care of them
We were payed
two months wges yesterday you need not send
any more stamps for I can get plenty of them here
and as for money I have 80$ with me now. I shall
