send apart of it home soon  I an going

down to the River to bathe this morning so I

must hurry or I shall not get back in time to

go on drill and if I should not I would be put in

the guard house or on extra duty for two or three days

You know that would not suit me verry well just now

I have never been in the guard house yet as a prisoner and

hope I never shall  I have saved others from getting

in many tines down in the city they have a general

guard house and they put anybody that they find out

after such atine at night and the next norning they

will put then in a room and shower them with

cold water  some of our regt has tried the soweing

room they think it is a big thing and I think so

too to for some of the boys that do not wash themselves

verry often.                           Well I must brng this

to a close you must excuse this dirty sheet and poor

spelling and writing  give my respects to all tell

aunt daphen that I should like to have her write to

me.  let me know how buisness is with the people in

general and write soon
