April 21  I run around the country to day and saw our men

April 22  I went over to the 64 to day and had avisit with

the boys towards night the rebels tried to shell our

camps but failed our sharp shootes picked off their

'' 23  I went out within half of a mill of the enemys works

saw them out on drill and heard their band play

''  24 I run some bullets to day  Dwite Wallerman came

and made me a visit to day  I threw the best there

was in the seat to day at he square hold I went

down to our battrys with Dwite the rebs throwed

a shell that passed over our heads

 

''  25 I went from the York Reiver to the James river to day

I stopped at the one hundredth regt and James Saxton

the rest of the boys are sick
