                 Prospect Hill Mar. 24th 1838

Mr. Hollandsworth

              Dr. Sir

                          According to promise I

went to see Mr. Swindol, who seems to be entirely

opposed to selling his man, but proposes to buy

Miley & child; for which I think he would give

a liberal price, if she is willing to live with him.

I think it will be quite useless to say any thing

more about buying Adam, to use Swindol's own words

"he said if he must sell, he would speculate him,

that he had no hand in parting them." – he

instructed me to write to you, that if you will

sell your woman to write the lowest price you will

take, & he will answer you immediately

I have been quite sick the last two or three days

but am better to day, we are well, the rest of the

connexions also, with the exception of very severe colds

My Fathers knee mends slowly

          My love to you all

                     Adieu

                                     H. F. Shipman

N.B. I shall esteem it a favour

if you will call at Kyles & get

a pair of shoes, which I forgot

& bring them down when you come
