My sweet darling Celia
Since I wrote the
large letter Enclosed dated Aug 29th I have
recd one from you - but I have been very
very sick indeed of camp dysentery with
considerable hemorrhage of the bowels
I was confined to my bed, till this
morning - oh you dont know how weak
it made me who have never been sick
in bed a week before for 15 years about
Oh how I thought of you and your
dear kind love - and wished you with
me I am convalescent now and at work
it was just as much as I could do to
keep my situation as they do not
hire me to "get sick" God has been with
me and I have come through - I am
rushed to death by Work all day and all
night ever since I have been here I
have even put up prescriptions in
bed when I have been sick -
