Yesterday I received
your Kind and affectionate letter and it
pleases me very much but one thing -
that is you and Maria will persist in
calling me "old" now if that is a term of
Endearment that is well enough, but other
wise I cannot tolerate it, because it is literally
false I am not "stricken in years" old in
appearance, in affection, in Love,
or any thing else yet, you may however
assist me to mature in the latter will
you do it my dear? - You seem to be having
a great church time in Morris now. how is it
are they all coming to? Last Sunday I procured
a pass till 9 oclock Monday Morning, and had
a good visit to my old home, slept there -
mosquitoes by thousands included - Mr
