My dear Madam.
Your letter of
the 30th just recd. I was pleased
to hear from you & know you
are well. Your experiences of
life since marriage have truly
been sad. - so sad & severe, no
one but yourself can ever know.
But the cause of you sorrow is
no more. Alas! that one so young
who might have been so res-
pected. should thus have
died - Your [babes?] loss must
have been a sad trial to you
indeed. But you have the con-
solation that she is in "another
and a better world." Let us all
so strive to live. that when our
