I am instructed by the Brigadier Gen to

direct you to furnish to these Hd Qurs, the names

of all Officers of your Regiment who are absent

without leave, specifying the length of time

they have been absent, together with such remar-

ks as the good of the service may seem to suggest .

All officers whose leaves have expired, or who

are sent from their Regts sick, who fail to

furnish, monthly, the certificate prescribed by

the regulations, and absent without leave –

You are further requested to suggest what

additional action you deem necessary, to that

already taken within the last few weeks, in

order to insure the prompt return of Officers & men

of your Regt, who are absent without leave –
