     Back to work! Evie was back too

and things slopped by without

much drudgery. At lunchhour I

went up to Childe’s to meet Beth,

Midge, Lou and Carolyn Harley

(who has an interesting job with

an advertising agency!). We talked

and laughed as the waitress

glared; and talked tentatively

of getting together next week.

     I came home and saw another

dopey letter from Jimmy – he

met Bob Pellisane of Hollis and

discussed me vaguely and

particularly.

     I wrote Mac Kaemmerle a

note about my little sister and

then a letter to Pat Lavery. I

owe so many letters, but haven’t

the energy to scribble many

of them off.
